Innovation for India Awards 2014 Nominees Announced
The Marico Innovation Foundation (MIF) has announced the final list of nominees for the fifth edition of its prestigious Innovation for India Awards (IIA). The shortlisted organisations were chosen out of 435 applications for the biennial awards, which carry a 1 lakh Rupee cash prize.
The seven business category nominees for IIA 2014 are Zydex Industries, Titan Eye Care, Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd, Innoz Technologies, GIBSS, Amagi Labs and Reuters Market Lightwhile the four contenders who will vie for the social sector prize are Nirantar Trust, Karadi Path,Agewell Foundation and Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR).
The press release quotes Harsh Mariwala, Chairman and MD, Marico Ltd. and Founder of MIF as saying:
Through Innovation for India Awards, MIF is making an attempt to acknowledge and encourage ideas that impact the society at large and thus showcase the impact to the larger community. This reinforces my belief that it is possible to create an eco-system of sustainable innovation
Entries were evaluated on the basis of parameters like uniqueness, sustainability and scalability by a jury that included Venkat Krishnan Director, Give India, Dr. Makrand Phadke, Sr. VP-Innovation, Reliance Industries Ltd and Ravi Venkatesan, Independent Director, Infosys.
